Hell and Heaven

There is no place called Hell, and therefore
There is no place called Heaven
Hell and heaven are manifestations
Of the ever illusory human mind

Concept of hell is a childish way
Of understanding God’s creation
In God’s beautiful and unique creation
Love and harmony are primal forces

God does not create fear in human mind
Fear is man’s ignorance about himself
Hell is reflection of man’s insecurities
With himself and the obscure unknown

Religions induct concepts of sin and hell
In a child’s mind with fear and guilt
Once fear of God is seeded in a child’s mind
He may not mature to understand God

Heaven is an empty promise to Man
Who does not or cannot believe in himself
To think of himself as a free Man
To feel, reflect and introspect

God does not assign you to Hell
You alone choose to put yourself there
God does not assign you to Heaven
You alone aspire and reach out for it

Heaven, Earth and Hell
Sound like three separate planes or places
Created by Man’s imagination
Constantly in fear and in search of himself

Teen-age boys are sent as soldiers into battle
Against an enemy called devil, heathen or kafir
The real enemy hides inside their minds
The real enemy is fear and hatred within

The teen-age soldiers are promised heaven
If they get killed in action against the enemy
Promising them heaven with luxuries
Far beyond the little soldiers dreams

Throughout the history of civilizations
Man has killed man under false pretences
Of religion, liberation, or self righteousness
Hiding basic greed and insecurities within

Precepts of every religion are pure at heart
Man conveniently twists those precepts
To charter his own path of greed and ego
Drawing lines on water to claim victory

Hell and heaven are here to stay
In the minds of people looking outwards
Both concepts sublimate away as irrelevant
When silent consciousness reveals the truth of self
